Overview
Bodygard is an insulation membrane for waterproofing the substrate under ceramic tiling in bathrooms, shower systems and balconies. It safely bridges cracks under ceramic and stone coverings in wet areas, on floors and walls, and is especially suited to gypsum-panel walls and any smooth surface that can carry ceramics.
The membrane is applied in one coat with the tiling itself, so it saves time and labour. It needs no concrete screed, adapts to the surface because it is flexible, and handles details such as wall thickness, edges and pipe bends. Joints are bonded with polyurethane adhesive, so no additional equipment is needed, and no fire, hot air or solvent is used in application.

Application method
- Substrate
- The carrier surface must be sound and dry, free of dust and dirt. Repair broken corners, smooth protrusions and scrape off loose plaster.
- Bedding
- Apply a C2 ceramic adhesive with a 4 mm trowel, extending about 10 cm beyond the membrane. Place the pre-cut membrane on the wet adhesive and smooth it, so the mortar beneath is pressed evenly.
- Joints
- Overlap at least 4 cm. At the lower end, cut a 10 cm tape for the joint and bond it with mortar.
