Overview
HFPO (high-filled polyolefin) is made from polypropylene or polyethylene compounded with natural minerals in various degrees of fineness. It is taint-free, grease- and waterproof and has a paper-like feel with good foldability and printability. Compared with pure polymers it is a twice-as-effective barrier to light and water vapour, so it can replace laminate solutions such as PE / paper. Moderately filled film also has improved tear resistance and dart drop.
Felix states that the compound and film hold EU and FDA approval for food contact.
